Headline: Striving for Optimal Performance
Photo: RunnerThe waste incineration plants operated by E.ON Energy from Waste are highly complex power stations. In order to ensure optimal operation of this plant network in terms of utilised capacity and technical availability, it makes sense to compare the individual sites on the basis of specific criteria.

The aim of such a comparison is to identify weaknesses and to create ways to improve operations, i.e. to develop future strategies for optimal operation of every single plant.

Only processes that can actually be compared should be included in the assessment, which means that standard criteria are set. And: the more regular the repetition of this process, the more intensive the learning effect achieved.

Constant Internal Process Optimisation
Benchmarking is used as a continuous process applied to the activities of E.ON Energy from Waste. Comparisons have so far included such areas as availability, flue gas cleaning and steam generation.

The results obtained are analysed by an E.ON Energy from Waste project group. Development of a new basis for application of a new benchmark is also included in the activities of the group. This is the only way to ensure consistent optimisation of operational and technical processes, economic operation and competitiveness. The parties that particularly benefit from this are the contractual partners of E.ON Energy from Waste.
